New logo for Coffee Tails Chilterns
Following the competition we ran last year, Coffee Tails Chilterns – your local guide to dog-friendly cafés – has an eye-catching new logo.
Winner of the competition, 13-year-old Chloe Timms, captured the essence of Coffee Tails with her sketch of a pug in a mug. Aylesbury-based graphic design company, SyncBox, then worked their magic to transform Chloe’s idea into the current design, which I’m sure you’ll agree looks fabulous! Thank you to everyone who entered, and to the kind sponsors who donated prizes.
Coffee Tails is the initiative of local writer/author, Kathryn White, who decided to share her knowledge of local dog-friendly coffee shops via Facebook. ‘As a freelance writer, I’m often seen in the local cafés with my laptop or notebook and pen. I work from home, so taking my dog, Mole, for a walk and then working remotely keeps me sane! Friends kept asking me for recommendations for dog-friendly cafés, which made me realise there was definitely a need for this information to be out there.’
This year, Kathryn plans to share some short walks with Coffee Tails’ followers. The different routes will be illustrated with pictures to help walkers navigate their way, courtesy of local photographer, Tom Alderton. ‘Each walk will feature one or more of the cafés, of course.’ Kathryn is also requesting the Coffee Tails’ community to send in information about dog-friendly coffee shops from around the UK, which they go to when they’re on holiday or visiting friends and family.
In the meantime, you can download a copy of the Coffee Tails’ Guide to Dog-friendly Cafés at CoffeeTailsChilterns. The cafés featured so far include those in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire and Kathryn is always happy to receive recommendations. ‘I’m thrilled with how popular Coffee Tails is proving to be and so pleased it’s a helpful resource to the local community.’
